Construct Recreational Lodgings at Bellows AFS

Recreational site lodgings, single story structures of wood framed construction on concrete slab-on-grade. Each lodging has a kitchen, living room, and lanai. The structures have exterior and interior finishes including appliances, cabinets, electrical lighting, communication, fire detection system, supporting utilities and all materials needed to provide a complete and usable building. Construction conformed to the latest handicap accessible guidelines.

Bank of Hawaii Waialae Kahala Branch Addition & Office Alterations

Approximately 6,000 s.f. of interior renovation and 1,600 s.f. of office addition. The bank was operational  while the work was being performed. Site work included exterior lighting, landscaping & irrigation, AC paving, interior & exterior demolition, concrete, structural steel, metal decking, cold form framing, stainless steel handrails, finish carpentry, building insulation, direct applied exterior finish system, built-up bituminous roofing, flashing & sheet metal, wood doors, all glass entrances & storefronts, aluminum windows, finish hardware, glazing, cement plasters, gypsum board, ceramic tile, acoustic ceiling, wood flooring, resilient base, carpeting, painting, plumbing, A/C, and electrical.

The Salvation Army New Office Trailer

Project consisted of removal and replacement of a modular office trailer approximately 24' x 42', utilities excavation, offsite and onsite waterline main line for fire hydrant and new sprinkler system to trailer, clsm fill under roadway, cold plane asphalt, asphalt paving, roadway striping and pavement marking, concrete sidewalks, metal handrails, concrete, carpentry, painting, firesprinkler, plumbing, electrical work.

2004

Maile Moody is the oldest daughter of Lyle Moody, and the fourth generation of the Moody family to work at Walker-Moody Construction. She graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with a bachelors degree in Science in Construction Management. Maile joined Walker-Moody Construction Co, Ltd. in January 2004. She holds a CQC certification issued by the Corps of Engineers and has an OSHA safety card for a 30-hour Occupational Health & Safety Training Course. As Maile puts it, she will be the first female president of the company, and she is well on her way to this goal. Maile and her father often spend time out on projects together. She excels in project management and estimating, and really takes pleasure in the work.

Maile was accepted into the Master's Degree program in Construction Management at BYU Provo, and will leave Hawaii in January 2005 to pursue this next level in her education. She is on track to graduate from the program in 2006.

Marc Moody Industrial Complex

Marc Moody Industrial Complex owned by Walker-Moody Construction Co., Ltd. and is a design build project including a two acre lot with all site work.  A one-half (50'-0" x 242'-0") one user section with open and inset front two bay, two-story office entry and open and enclosed warehouse sections. The other half (50'-0" x 242'-0") with eleven each rental spaces including individual 14'-5" H x 14'-0" W roll-up doors and a community men's and women's restroom facilities. All exterior and interior walls are constructed with pre-engineered materials. The building also utilizes a continuous fascia and overhang to naturally ventilate all the storage spaces and provides a pleasing architectural "hat".

Hawaii Foodbank, Phase II

A design/build project with a new warehouse, distribution and office. This project's design, permits and construction were required to be completed in two phases, starting with Phase I in 1993 and Phase II on June 1, 2004. The work performed provided approximately 31,200 square feet under one roof including, demolition, earthwork, utilities, sewer system, cast-in-place concrete, reinforced masonry, structural steel, steel joists, steel floor decks, cold-formed metal framing, metal fabrication, carpentry, membrane waterproofing, roofing, rolling service doors, recessed loading dock, pre-engineered metal buildings, hydraulic passenger elevator, fire extinguishing sprinkler systems, plumbing, refrigeration and freezer, air conditioning, and fire alarm system.

Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 Joint Apprenticeship Committee of Hawaii Kahuku Training Center Water Tank & Appurtenance

The project consisted of sitework and concrete foundations for the installation of a 67,000-gallon metal water tank.  Specific work included site clearing and grubbing, grading, excavation and backfilling for utilities and foundation, rip rap drainage outlet, chain link fencing and gates, aggregate roadway, reinforced concrete jacketing, reinforced concrete foundation and slab, installation of owner furnished metal water tank, miscellaneous painting, owner installed electrical work, water level sensor and signaling devices.

Tesoro Flare Gas FDN & Paving

This Tesoro project consisted of civil sitework and concrete foundations for the installation of above ground refinery equipment and vessels. Specific work included site clearing and grubbing, grading, probe and grouting for underground cavities, foundation drilling, excavation and backfilling, underground electrical grounding and conduit work, concrete electrical ductline jacketing, reinforced concrete foundation, slabs, and pedestals, concrete paving.

Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3 Joint Apprenticeship Committee of Hawaii Kahuku Training Facility Maintenance Building

This project consisted of sitework utilities for water, fire sprinkler, sewer, and electrical.  Installation of a precast concrete septic tank and leach field system. Excavation and engineered fill for the building structure.  Construction of a 6,986 sf pre-engineered metal building with office and mezzanine storage.  Specific components included:  10” reinforced concrete slab, embedded steel track, 4’ high reinforced concrete abuse wall, masonry at spaces under Mezzanine and around Oil Storage room, miscellaneous metals including curved under hung hoist rail, cabinetry, metal doors and windows,  cold form metal framing for Oil Storage room, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, epoxy painting, visual display boards, wall louvers, toilet and bath accessories, hoist, cable and hose reels, pre-engineered metals building with 22 gage metal roof, wall, liner material, mechanical plumbing, compressed air piping, fire sprinkler, AC and ventilation, electrical.

HECO - New Kuahua Substation, Phase 1

A two million dollar project consisting of perimeter dust / security fencing, site clearing and grubbing, demolition, site excavation and backfilling, drilled piers for control house, transformer pads and steel structure footings, sitework for underground electrical ductwork, electrical handholes, and site and structure grounding. Reinforced concrete pier foundations, foundations for CMU property walls and firewalls, control house slab, ramps and walkways, transformer pads and trenches, cable trench, breaker pads, bollards, curbs and gutters.

12" thick CMU property walls with moss rock veneer and 12" thick CMU firewalls, metal embedded plates and anchors, metal entry drive gate, metal trench frames and covers, metal guardrails and bollards, chain link sliding gate and property fencing, landscape and irrigation work, fiberglass reinforced plastic trench grating, bollards painting, site rock fill, vegetation control and asphalt paved driveway.

Haig Concrete Parking Structure

This project consisted of a 1,382 s.f. by 1'-2" thick suspended reinforced concrete parking structure and three 20" diameter by 10' thick reinforced concrete slab on grade, reinforced concrete foundations and stair, sitework consisting of foundation excavation and backfilling. Construction featured steep access down to the site, 15 ton Bantam crane assisting in site and concrete work, one sided concrete retaining wall construction with engineered strongback shoring and wall form system, engineered parking deck shoring system, and a combination slick line and boom concrete pumping.

Navajo Hawaiian Native Corporation New Building

A million dollar project, Walker-Moody supplied and built the Varco-Pruden metal building for this wood truss manufacturing plant.
